Charter Company approval is indicated by the presence of FAA Air Carrier Certificates and Certificates of Insurance at levels required by MSU. This information is on file in the Office of Risk Management and Insurance. All rate information, etc., is subject to change since charter vendors are not under contract with MSU. Additional Information:

  • Weight and balance are determinants in how long and how far a plane will fly without a fuel stop.
  • The FAA only permits a pilot to fly 8 hours per day. This is actual flight time; does not include wait time.
  • Some corporations do not permit their CEOs to fly in airplanes with only one pilot or in planes with non-pressurized cabins.
  • Superior Aviation is in the process of purchasing additional planes.
  • They are considering purchasing a Cessna 414 which can manage up to 5 passengers, travels at a speed of 170 mph, and will cost approximately $475 - $500/hour.
